For the first time since 2016, the United Nations will observe Rotary Day at the UN at its headquarters in New York City this fall.
The observance will take place from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, at the UN’s headquarters, lo cated at 405 East 45th Street in New York City. In its announcement, Rotary International wrote that it expects approximately 750 people to attend the gathering, with this year’s focus being: Refugees: Challenging Assumptions and Creating Opportunities.
The announcement also said that United Nations officials and “humanitarian experts will inspire participants to find innovative strategies for addressing today’s humanitarian challenges” both “locally and globally.”
The day will be marked by what the announcement called “flash talks, engaging breakouts and plenary speeches” which will offer “expansive opportunities for the public to learn about, and support projects in refugee settlements and beyond.”
