Crew 305 News UpdateNovember 27, 2002The website is back up and running. Please go to http://www.jerseycityrotary.org/crew305/ for information and resources. Officers The following temporary officers were selected at the meeting on November 24: President – Chris L Vice-president – Administration - Amanda P Vice-president – Program - Caitlin S Treasurer – Danny E Secretary – Ewa P All officers should get copies of their job descriptions from the Resources page at http://www.jerseycityrotary.org/crew305/resources.htm. Activities schedule The following activities were selected for the next three months: December – Christmas in New York Trip
We scheduled this for December 15th but after consultation with the Advisor – Larry – this presents a problem. Each of you should please let me know if you can do this on December 14th (Saturday) instead. Chairman - Alex A; Consultant - Jim Miller, Sr. January – Ice Skating at Bear Mountain January 25 or 26 Chairman – Chris M; Consultant - Dennis Mahon February – Ski Weekend February 21-23 Chairman – Eric L; Consultant – Larry Alvarez Activities chairmen should go to the resources page on the website and download a copy of the “Activity Planner” to use in the planning process. Each chairman should be prepared to report at the next meeting. If you feel you need additional help on your activity feel free to recruit other members of the crew to serve on your committee. Paperwork We need to have a completed application from each member – youth and adult – at the next meeting. We cannot go on trips until we are registered since we will not be covered by insurance. Please fill out the forms we gave you and turn them in next time we meet. Youth registration forms must be signed by a parent or guardian. Youth members also need a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian for each trip. Please download one of these from the resources page, fill in the specific trip information and bring it to our next meeting. $$$$$$$$ We have checked with the local Boy Scout Council and the best way for us to handle our registration and chartering seems to be to initially charter the unit up to January 2003. We will then recharter and be on a calendar year basis for our charter. Each youth registering should bring in $15.40 to cover registration and insurance from now to January 2004. Adults must pay $12.40 for the same period since their insurance cost is covered in the registration fee. Meetings In order to get all the above paperwork and money in before our December trip, it will be necessary to have a brief meeting at least one week before. Larry and I have selected 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 8th to fill that need. We will meet again at St. Stephen’s either in the basement of the rectory or in the lower church. Check the signs when you get there to determine where we are. Communications E-mail seems to be the most efficient way for us to communicate so make sure that you check yours frequently for new information. Also check the website often. Anyone needing to get information or questions back to me should simply reply to this message. Anyone needing to get information out to the whole crew should use the REPLY TO ALL feature. |
