The Second Avenue of Service

Community Service pertains to those activities that Rotarians undertake to improve the quality of life in their community. It frequently involves assistance to youth, the aged, handicapped and others who look to Rotary as a source of hope for a better life. This is perhaps the best known of the four avenues of service. It includes all projects (other than vocational service projects) which help people in the local community. It is charity at its best when the members pitch in on a "hands on" basis.
